My girlfriend and I went up to tobermory ontario a few weeks ago. I have never had such amazing customer service in my entire life. Our server was super kind, funny and made lots of jokes to keep us entertained through our meal. Tried this place out because of the mostly great reviews, and I agree. Best chicken club I've ever been served, home fries were REAL - DONE ON A GRILL, and were delicious, a pleasure to wait for. The bacon this restaurant uses is amazing, not salty or greasy, fantastic. The chef was surprisingly young (20's), but sure knows his way around a grill, and old-style/old school cooking. I couldn't finish my club (very rare for me). The place is not fancy and the chairs are hard/uncomfortable, but maybe they don't want people sitting around too long? I first visited Allen's back in the 80's, not long after it opened, and I was instantly smitten. So much so, in fact that I moved into the neighbourhood! First I was a regular, then a nuisance, and finally a piece of furniture. I finally moved back to Markham in 1998, and cannot justify going anywhere south of Steeles Avenue without stopping into Allen's for lunch.
